Phosphatase, acid: Acid phosphatase is an enzyme that works under acid conditions and is made in the liver, spleen, bone marrow and the prostate gland.
Abnormally high serum levels of the enzyme may, for example, indicate prostate disease (infection, injury, or cancer).
